Dressing the sofa continues…

Well, I have certainly been busy: this throw should protect the leather sofa and is also in honour of our peacock (yes we have a wild and very beautiful peacock in our garden)…

Then I went on a further cushion spree, so much so that I have gone from none to potentially too many?I will soon find out if they will all fit…

Thanks to Barbara Coupe, I have finally managed to find some suitable cushions for my armchair and leather 2-piece retro sofa set.

Three of these little beauties should fit in very subtly into the project….

and as I had initally looked into using bus destinations on my walls, I think this makes more sense as it can be easily changed when I eventually tire of the look…or move!

But equally they could look very nice in my Barcelona pad…. now there is an idea for the future!

Black Sun Silver Moon…

Where once a picture of my delightful niece and nephew took pride of place centre stage above my mahogany stained oak fireplace surround; now hangs what I have named my black sun, silver moon. It was a lucky find in Oliver Bonas last month and it really does “tie the room together”… as for my beautiful nipotini? Well they continue to look on from another (temporary) vantage point. But I am searching for a perfect place for them to call home…

I’m back and since I’ve been offline I have been busy: I am now the proud owner of 4 rolls of the black and white Woods paper and 2 rolls of the silver and black version…. let the wallpapering commence! Hallelujah!

So if I don’t go for the Woods nor the Woodland wallpaper, maybe I should pull my creative finger out and just create something myself? Do I have the time and equipment to reach the top of my 3300mm tall walls? Or am I being a little ambitious beyond my time / space / equipment means? I’m still pondering upon my options…

Woods vs. Woodlands

I’ve been a fan of the Cole & Son Woods range for many many years. Like most things, it started off being a rare curiosity and as the word spread both via product placements in select venues and various interior design editorial pieces it has become rather ubiquitous, if not passé in directional design circles. But the DWH project is crying out for a “woody” feature wall-ette. So my question is this: do I stick two proverbial fingers up to the world and say “even though you’ve seen this before and it is admittedly over priced for something which will date relatively quickly: it will work well within this space and within this project so I’m going with it and I’m willing to be damned” or do I err on the side of caution and say “actually what I like about this design is the fact that it’s a quirky take on tall stripe-like graphic trees and the Prestigious Textiles woodland collection has two similar, lesser known and relatively cheaper version which might just do the trick in their Aspen and Birch ranges”…

vs. or

I’m afraid that the jury could be bribed on this one, but officially the jury is currently out: verdict to be announced at a later date….
